It's Monday and the first day of week 2 of my kids no longer getting those horrible juice boxes in their lunches. I made the switch to bottled water with no notice last week and they did great! I didn't hear one complaint. We'll see if they are still game this week.
When I made the decision to clean up the way I was eating I left my kids behind. I couldn't understand why I was feeling so good, avoiding sickness, and overall just doing great and my kids were sick and tired all the time! Finally round one of flu season hit us and I remained well while my kids were hit hard. All four kids were down for a hard 7 days of fever and chills and body aches. I decided it was then time to make a change. No more frozen pizzas, no more fast food, no more sugar filled treats and I replaced chips and cookies with apples and oranges. I put my kids on a multi vitamin and they drink a cap full of mango flavored aloe everyday. They LOVE it! Well after a few weeks of our big change round two of the flu hit all four kids again! This time they were sick for two days and it was GONE! My kids have surely reaped the benefits of me changing their eating. So I stand firm in my belief that WHAT WE ARE EATING AND FEEDING OUR CHILDREN PLAYS A HUGE ROLE IN OUR AND THEIR OVERALL HEALTH.
Now before I start getting backlash on depriving my kids of a childhood b/c they don't get to eat McDonalds....YOU have no clue what you are feeding your kids therefore have no place to talk to me about what I'm feeding mine. My kids are FAR from deprived!

Taking my vitamins
I remember when I was a little girl and spending weekends with my grandmother I would watch her take, what at the time seemed like 100 vitamins. She carried a little ziploc baggie in her purse and at breakfast, lunch and dinner she would pull it out. I remember as I got older and into "my know it all years" I would think this lady looks crazy. It wasn't until a few months ago I realized the importance of all those vitamins she took. My grandmother is the healthiest 86 year old woman I know. I've never, not once, known my grandma to be sick. So I think there is something serious to say about taking vitamins. I take a multivitamin, I take fish oil, garlic, calcium, and a few others that help build immunity. I also drink aloe. I can't tell you how good I feel knowing my body is at its strongest to fight off infections and illness. I may not carry around a fancy ziploc baggie like my grandma, but I do have a snazzy Herbalife tablet box and I'm PROUD to pull it out at breakfast, lunch and dinner!

The weather isn't supposed to be cold which was my biggest fear, running when its super cold but it looks like its supposed to rain. What are your thoughts of running in the rain?? More squats
Today being Monday of course was legs and glutes day. It felt so good working out. I warmed up on the elliptical then did the hip abductor, leg curls, leg extensions squat press, smith squats and finished up with some burn outs on my legs and cooled down on the stairclimber. Oh btw I do 4sets of 12-18 reps. I can already feel some soreness which is my favorite thing ever!
Now to relax with the kids and get cookies made and watch some good movies. Eeeek yay for Christmas Eve.

Killed it
Man oh man! I told myself I was going to go a bit crazy today at the gym. So I mixed up my pre-workout (Herbalife24 Prepare...best pre-workout EVER) and I did my shoulders and arms. When I left the gym my arms were trembling. That's how I knew it was a successful day at the gym :-D went to push the door and was like ugh I wish it was an automatic door.
I came home and literally crashed on my bed. I have only done minor things since then and let me tell you I am ALREADY sore. Tomorrow will be a nightmare. I love it <3
I went to do my first shoulder exercise, dumbbell shoulder press, and could see toning and defining and ill be damned if my shoulders are coming in quite nicely! It's an amazing feeling seeing the fruit of all my labor one body part at a time. I'm so excited. Now if I could just start seeing results in my chest. It's the hardest body part for me to workout. Anyway wish me luck ~ Mamas Runnin~

This Mama's Busy
Dang I can't believe its already Thursday. Where has the week gone? Better yet I cant believe Christmas is a few days away.
Between the four kids Christmas parties at school my week has flown by. Tonight I plan on going absolutely ham in the gym.
I haven't been since Monday and I hate that I'm out of my routine. Looks like I need to dust off the workout videos and get it in when I can regardless if I can't make it to the gym.
Oh yea and by the way my husband broke his wrist trying to be Lebron last night against some inexperienced (for a lack of better word) goons. The night was spent in the ER and its for certain surgery is in his future. He didn't sleep hardly at all and as of yet hasn't made it into the office. I had to literally get him dressed one leg at a time this morning. He thought he was funny and said "this must be what it feels like to be rich" I should have punched him in his arm. Hahahahaha funny guy? -____- so here's to taking care of a 36 year old baby. Wish me luck ~Mamas Runnin'~
